Black Lives Matter
We are sure you are all very aware of everything that is currently going on in relation to the 'Black Lives Matter' movement. It feels like an appropriate time for us to revisit our Oasis ethos and values which encompass ‘A passion to include’ and ‘A desire to treat people equally respecting differences’. As educators, we have a vital role to play in tackling inequality in all of its forms and promoting tolerance and respect for differences. In these unprecedented times, whilst most learning is taking place at home, we are very mindful that we still need to promote these values, including to responding to current events such as the death of George Floyd and the subsequent global protests. We know that many children may be interested in these events and may have many questions. We are therefore providing these two resources in order to support any conversations going on at home around these matters. Please also look out for further resources that we will post next week in preparation for ‘School Diversity Week’ which takes place from 22nd - 26th June 2020.
