In the past we have run events in conjunction with local businesses such as 'mock interview days' and 'Career Days'.

Our Partnerships Include

KPMG

KPMG is a professional service company who provide Auditory, tax and advisory services for many big and small companies around the globe. With around 200,000 members of staff and offices all around the world KPMG is a global company who take their social responsibility very seriously.

Over the past few years KPMG Bristol has supported Oasis Academy Brislington by organising various events.

  • Year 7: Bright Day 
  • Year 9: Dragon's Den
  • Year 10: Mock Interview Day and Workplace Visit
  • Year 11 Business Mentoring

WON

Western Outreach Network

The Western Outreach Network (WON) is a partnership of eight universities and higher education Colleges working with schools in the West of England. 

WON provides workshops for schools which are aimed at increasing the awareness of all higher education routes and pathways.

In 2017/2018 WON worked with all of our Year 8, Year 9 & Year 10 students. 

OVO Energy

OVO is a fairly new, award winning Energy company based in Bristol. Founded in 2007, OVO's aim is to provide its customers with fair prices, award-winning services and renewable electricity. Its vision is to put the "long term future of people and the planet before short-term profits". OVO's young and committed team is also dedicated to supporting good causes hence joining the West of England Mentoring Scheme where they work with young people and to inspire this to become the best they can be in the future.

  • Year 8 - Mentoring Programme (September & October 2017)
  • Year 9 - Mentoring Programme (January - May 2018) 

Young Enterprise 

Young Enterprise provides "high quality" careers and employability opportunities for students. The Employability Masterclass provides students with top tips for CV writing and useful interview techniques.

Employers from local companies speak to the students about their own career choices and pathways as well as mentoring them through the interview process. 

South Bristol Youth

South Bristol Youth is a charity which provides a variety of opportunities for young people in the South of Bristol. South Bristol Youth run different projects throughout the year which enables students to experience work environemtns, Universities and Higher Education Colleges in order to inspire them to aim high for their future careers.

Programmes:

Unlocking Potential

This programme’s aim is to increase the speaking and listening skills of a select group of students. Students on the programme engage in a variety of exciting, enjoyable and engaging activities  along with visits to the Bristol Old Vic, The Watershed, Bristol Zoo, Barton Camp and Mshed. Added together this makes this programme an unforgettable experience for students.

Future Quest Programme

This programme is aimed at students who are thinking of attending university after completing their A Levels. Students in Years 9, 10 & 11 benefit highly from this programme as they visit various universities and take part in numerous activities throughout the year to improve their skills set for higher education. In Year 11 students also work with a mentor throughout the year to support their studies and help them with their future career choices.

Insight to Apprenticeships

Insight to Apprenticeships is a new programme which aims to give students the opportunity to visit work places giving them an insight into different careers. Students see real people in real jobs and become physically engaged as well as having the opportunity to ask questions. This is a great opportunity for a hands on learning experience and seeing in real life what a working environmet is like!

South Bristol Youth Board

Oasis Academy Brislington is represented on the South Bristol Youth Board. Two of our students regularly engage in discussions with South Bristol Youth to improve the programmes run by the charity.

Grofar

Grofar is out most recent partnership and is supporting us with our careers education. Grofar is a complete toolkit and is used to support our Careers service delivery. This comprehensive tool enables career leads to record and measure the impact of the careers programme whilst on the other hand it enables students to set their career goals, record all of their career activities, give feedback and research job sectors.

Grofar provides continuous profession development for tutors, career leads and careers advisors; supports students in class to navigate around their action plans and supports the careers lead with impact analysis.

St Brendan's Sixth Form College

St Brendan's is a modern, forward thinking sixth form college delivering quality teaching and learning to students from all Cultural and religious backgrounds.

After a massive investment in the buildings and facilities in 2009, St Brendan's is proud of its university standard facilities which are modern, environmentally friendly and accessible to all.

Oasis Academy Brislington's Partnership with St Brendan's includes the following:

  • working with individual students on their college applications
  • Intended destination interviews 
  • Tutor group support and assemblies
  • Careers Fair
  • Discovery Day
  • Language Workshops  

RPC

Great law is built on relationships. It helps if you actually get on with the lawyers you work with. Clients want smart lawyers they enjoy working with. RPC understand our clients want unstuffy advice fit for today's complex business world. And we understand the need for specialist advice.

We work with them to introduce our young people to the world of Law and Finance.
