Students participate in tree planting project to help improve Brislington's biodiversity.
After successfully applying to the Woodland Trust Free Trees for Schools campaign our students were able to enjoy a beautiful day planting trees for the good of our planet. Several students volunteered to plant hundreds of saplings from a variety of different species including Rowan, Silver Birch, Wild Cherry, Dogwood, Hazel as well as many other species.
All will benefit wildlife in their own ways and students were delighted to participate in improving the local habitat.
Oasis Brislington is giving this unused piece of land back to nature to boost biodiversity in Brislington. Last summer we planted wildflowers and now trees are growing at the site.
The Student Academy Council Environmental Strand will continue to work out there and we envisage that the space will provide further educational opportunities for our students in future. Already this significant piece of land is now free from pesticide and we look forward to seeing it rewild in the future.
