The wait for GCSE results is over, as students across the country returned to school one final time to collect their grades. The current coronavirus pandemic hasn’t dampened spirits for final year students at Oasis Academy Brislington, as they look forward to taking their next steps today after securing some great results.
Many students have achieved superb individual results and have exciting plans for their futures.
With four grade 9s and five grade 8s, Honey-Rea was one of the academy’s top achievers. She is going on to study human biology, psychology and textiles at St Brendan's Sixth Form College.
Rowan also secured outstanding grades, including 5 grade 9s, two grade 8s, one grade 7 and one grade 6. With those fantastic results, Rowan will go on to study for her A’levels at St Mary Redcliffe Sixth Form.
Joining Rowan at St Mary Redcliffe Sixth Form to study maths, chemistry and biology is Rayhan, who achieved brilliant results - one grade 9, two grade 8s, 5 grade 7s and one grade 5.
Phoebe has secured herself a place at City of Bristol College to study applied science, whose results included two grade 7s, three grade 6s, two grade 5s and two grade 4s.
Principal of Oasis Academy Brislington, Mr Peter Knight said: “We are extremely proud of all our Year 11 students who received their results today. The post-16 courses our young people choose are varied and we are thrilled their grades will allow them to access the next stage in their education or training. We wish them the best of luck.”
